Nikki Hiltz

MIDDLE DISTANCE

We connected with Nikki through the Pride 5k, after years of admiring their work from afar. Nikki is a highly accomplished athlete, with multiple All Americans, international medals, and a World Championship finals appearance to their name. But it's what Nikki brings to the world off the track and race course that makes them so special. Read on to get to know the newest member of the Picky Team!

Q&A with Nikki

Who would play you in your biopic?
Eddie Redmayne (it’s the freckles)

Wildest memory / moment from competing?
Dropping the baton on the first leg of the DMR during my freshman year at Oregon. Probably the only year in school history Oreon didn’t qualify a DMR for NCAAs. Whoops.

Three little-known-facts about you:

  • I wore headgear to bed every night when I was in 6th grade
  • I was on my junior high school surf team
  • I was my senior class president so I am in charge of planning all of my high school renions

Proudest non-sport accomplishment
Putting on a successful in-person Pride 5k in Flagstaff with my partner Emma Gee!

Best book you’ve read recently?
“I’m Glad my Mom Died” by Jennette McCurdy

Why Picky Bars?
I am quite picky (no pun intended) with the brands I decide to work with. They must share my values when it comes to community and inclusivity, be genuine and fun to work with, and must make great products, all boxes Picky Bars checks!
